NEW FORECASTWATCH REPORT: Best Places to Live in Europe 2025 Edition
We just released the latest edition of our Best Places to Live or Work in Europe if You Need to Know What the Weather Will Be Like Tomorrow 2025 report! We analyzed and ranked 593 locations by the capability to predict high temperatures, low temperatures, and precipitation for the next three days.
The most accurate combinations of forecasts and persistence by country were in Portugal, Malta, and Greece. The least accurate combinations of forecast and persistence by country were in Finland, Moldova, and Sweden. In our full report, we provide a breakdown of the top ten and bottom ten cities for the most and least accurate forecasts overall and by forecast metric, as well as an explanation as to why each location scored higher or lower.

Multi-Hazard Early Warning Systems Status Report
The World Meteorological Organization and the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction recently released their Global Status of Multi-Hazard Early Warning Systems: 2025 report. The report builds on status reports from previous years by talking about the current status of multi-hazard early warning systems (MHEWS) and the Early Warnings for All (EW4All) initiative that launched in 2022 that seeks to achieve universal coverage of early warnings of weather hazards within five years.
The key findings from the report are listed in our blog.

India Uses AI to Predict Monsoon Rains
One of the latest AI weather integrations is taking place in India. The Indian monsoon is responsible for providing three quarters of the country’s annual rainfall each year, and is essential for agriculture in the region. However, the monsoon is notoriously hard to predict, and climate change is making it even more difficult.
Instead of trying to simulate the atmosphere using physics and equations, their new AI model provided predictions by comparing the patterns they see in weather data with previous, similar patterns in historical weather records.
Initial findings show that the AI model was able to accurately predict when the monsoonal rains would arrive 30 days in advance. It also correctly forecasted that rainfall would stall in the middle of the season, as it did for 20 days, despite not appearing in traditional forecasts.

New Model Increases Accuracy of Flood Risk Projections
Researchers at the Institute of Industrial Science at The University of Tokyo developed a new statistical method to increase the accuracy of flood risk projects across about 70% of the Earth’s landmass.
The new model expands the statistical sample size of the available ensemble data by merging parts of future climate scenarios with the same level of warming but different socioeconomic pathways that include economic growth, urbanization, and technological development.
