New NOAA supercomputers will lead to a computer model upgrade and potentially better weather forecasts

This summer, NOAA upgraded to two new supercomputers that triple the size of their previous computers’ processing speed. A resulting upgrade in the GFS model this fall could help provide more detailed and extended forecasts!
